Patrice

When doing any of my interviews, I give the participants a choice when it comes to answers their questions. They can have them in advance to prepare, or answer them spontaneously. Patrice (@th1rty) thought it would be more interesting to choose the latter. She's not one to reveal much of her personal life, so I tried not to make it too intrusive. There were parts of the interview that would have made some uncomfortable, or plead the fifth, but Patrice answered graciously. I couldn't have asked for anything better.

McDeedus: Here we go. What's something interesting you could tell the people?

Patrice: Well. I'm originally from IN. Moved to B'ham for my job. My parents are from here so most of my relatives are here. Fun fact: Charles Barkley and I are related

M: Well welcome and tell Chuck War Eagle! 1 are your tweets an accurate representation of you?

P: Yes ma'am. I don't know any other way to be, but me.

M: 2 you see someone you know from twitter. How do u introduce yourself?

P: I tell them my real name. Not my twitter one. Most people say it wrong anyway. Lol

M: Oh. What's the correct way to say it? What's the meaning behind it?

P: It's one thirty. Thought l'd get creative and change the "i" to a "1." It's for my birthday. 1/30. January 30th

M: Gotcha. 3 you no longer care to read someone's tweets. Do you mute, unfollow, or block?

P:  I'll just mute them. Don't see the need to block/unfollow. I haven't followed anyone that has aggravated me that much

M: Cool. 4 can men and women be just friends?

P: Yes. I have quite a few guy friends. And they're not men that I've previously dated or have had an interest in

M: 5 what is the one thing a potential suitor MUST have for you to consider dating him?

P: Pretty teeth. Lol. A nice smile is one of the 1st things I notice.

M: That's a good one. 6 how are you happy being single?

P:  A relationship isn't really necessary for me right now. Considering the fact that I've been married, I know what I want & see no need to rush to get it

M: 7 once a cheater, always a cheater?

P: I don't think so. Some people cheat & never do it again. If you can't forgive them, then there's no point in staying.

M: 8 never trust a big butt and a smile. Sage advice or malarkey?

P: Well, I have a big butt, sooo...Lol

M: Sooo....

P: Lol!!!! Yes, I can be trusted. I have a pretty smile too :)

M: 9 what would your ex say is the reason that you broke up?

P: Well, my last ex was my husband. I really don't know what he'd say. I'd say once he got his mistress pregnant, there's nothing he can say

M: Mercy. 10 what's the best decision you've ever made? 

P: Coming to B'ham surprisingly. I've met some great people, gotten closer to my extended fam & have really enjoyed this awesome weather even though if all goes well, my next stop will be Atlanta

The thing about an idea is that if it's yours, it's fragile. No matter how much you believe in it, one small guffaw can make you question it's level of awesome. Understanding this, I took my idea to one of the most harsh and honest forums ever. Twitter. I threw an idea about a talk show of sorts and hoped for the best. Danielle (@FuturePhDEE) was my boost in confidence. She allowed me to question her and she answered off the cuff. No review of the questions and no previous interview to review. She trusted me not to try and embarrass her and I trusted her to set the bar for interviews to come. This is the result...

M: Nice! 1 Are you the same person on and off twitter?

D: Im actually a little more reserved on Twitter...but yes the same

M: Ok. 2 You have rules for women who interact with your #Him. On a scale of 1-heart attack, how serious are you?

D: LMAO! Im actually a REAL private investigator! I wont pull the choppa on you (female) but I will pull it on #Him but I would say...1-10... 5

M: I believe you. 3 define whore/hoe

D: LAWD!!! I actually wrote about hoes... let me see.... hmmmm....

Some of my best friends are "hoes" I'd define a "hoe" as one who uses what she "got" to get what she wants, by any means necessary

M: Hmm. We'll accept that. 4 do all men cheat?

D: All the men I know....

M: :-( 5 should people flirt with others while in a relationship?

D: They shouldnt but it happens, I think its human nature. They shouldnt however, be a blatant habitual flirter.... where it becomes disrespectful

M: 6 what is the craziest thing you've done to impress a guy?

D: Chile I watched flicks and then tried to do everything that girl did in the flick, almost broke my neck hanging off a bed upside down, trying to pop it for a real pimp!!! Blood was rushing to my head & shit!! but it worked ;-)

M: It worked! 7 you posted a pic of yourself watching Whitney's funeral. Did you expect all that attention?

D: LOL! NO!!! I was actually being silly because @RLJ1738 said he bet I wouldn't dress up for real! I had no idea it would go that far

M: It was SOOO funny! 8 can a woman have a physical relationship w/o emotions?

D: I have had one or two in my lifetime but I think what women do sometimes is they go into something physical hoping for it turn into more. I think we are good at lying about being able to handle just a physical relationship but we don't REALLY want it

M: I agree 9 do you ever censor your tweets due to fear that your daughter will read them?

D: Nope...

M: Last one 10 as a rappers wife, what advice do you have for women dating local celebrities on how to handle groupies?

D: Ummmm.... I'm probably not a good person to ask because I'm crazy.... Let's see.... In the beginning when I was younger I used to get mad, jump on him & act crazy.. But I don't know if I'm older or just tired but you have to be secure & we all have insecurities, I learned #Him not leaving. I learned

M: Salute. I don't think I'm built for that life. I truly tip my hat to you. Bonus question. It's late, you have to work in the am & your man feels no ways tired. What is your go to move?

D: No more upside down tricks for me but if throwing it back on #Him in doggy style don't work add more hand to the mouf action
